RedBull started the rain soaked Korean GP with everything to lose...and lose they did...gaining not even 1 point! Qualifying P1 & P2 it appeared as RedBull would extend its lead in the 2010 Formula 1 championship race both for the drivers and constructors.
In the end, Mark Webber foolishly spins out and wrecks his car as well as the Mercedes GP car of Nico Rosberg. Sebastian Vettel’s day would end with a blown engine with just a few laps to go. Mark gave up his First place in the Drivers Championship standings to Fernando Alonso.
Vettel appears to be out of contention, down by 25 points with just 2 races and 50 points left. One thing is clear, Mark will not get any help in the next two races from
Vettel. Team boss Christian Horner said after the race that RedBull would not favor Webber in the next two races...surely a sign of inexperience.
I don't blame Horner as ownerships key man, Helmut Marko, was seen hugging and whispering in Vettel's ear repeatedly on Sunday's broadcast in Korea. Too bad really, I feel if Vettel would have been held accountable for his foolishness earlier in the season he would currently be in charge of the Driver's championship.
